We are very pleased to announce PPP Investment Forum Morocco that will take place next week (23-25 May) at the Sofitel Jardin Des Roses is now being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Equipment,Transport and Logistics.

Since the publication of the country’s PPP laws in March 2015, the Minister, H.E. Eng. Aziz Rabah, has instructed that feasibility studies be conducted on over 20 projects to be procured under the PPP model. At the Forum, he will be addressing the delegates about the use of PPP to fund infrastructure development in Morocco and there will be a high level delegation from the Ministry that will unveil projects from the aviation, ports, rail and highways sector. The considerable support that we have received from the Ministry in hosting this event demonstrates their commitment growing this sector in the country.

In addition H.E. Lahcen Daoudi, Minister of Higher Educationand Scientific research will also be speaking about the potential forinvestment in social infrastructure that has become more accessible under thenew regulations. However there remain a number of challenges that will face thedevelopment of the market including:

Navigating through the new legislation to enable investors to fully participate in public sector infrastructure

Building capacity within the government and private sector to structure and execute PPP projects successfully

Attracting greater foreign investors into Morocco to facilitate greater deal flows

The forum will serve as a platform for all the stakeholders to discuss these issues and establish relationships that will facilitate greater investment in the country’s public sector infrastructure projects.
